for Nano LED Display R&D National Project

□ Saehan Nanotech Co., Ltd. (CEO Ahn Kook-Jin) announced that it was selected as the host company for the national project on advanced display research and development (R&D).

 

ㅇ It is a project with a total R&D cost of 3.3 billion won (including government subsidies), and the implementation period is 2 years and 9 months (until December 2026). Saehan Nanotech, as the host company, plans to spend about 1.4 billion won of this on R&D.

 

ㅇ Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, Korea Institute of Photonics and Technology, Sejong University, Chonbuk National University, and Lumigen Tech participate in the joint R&D, and LG Display is a demand company.

 

ㅇ This project is one of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "High-Tech Strategic Industry Super Gap" technology development projects, and was designed to further strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic high-tech display industry, which ranks first in the world, and to intensively support next-generation nano LED technology.

 

□ The goal of this research is to develop process technology optimized for nano LED chip production and produce innovative products that lead the global display market.

 

ㅇ Kim Yong-dae, head of the corporate research center, explained, “Nano LED technology can be applied to all display application fields,” and “It will be especially useful in wearable display products.”

 

- He also said, “It is an honor for Saehan Nanotech to carry out a national project in the cutting-edge display field,” and “We will do our best to successfully complete the task during the implementation period.”

 

※ Saehan Nanotech is a specialized manufacturer of semiconductor and display equipment. It has succeeded in localizing the core technology of LCD dispensers and has long-standing research experience and achievements in the display equipment field, including developing a nano imprinting machine in collaboration with the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials.
